Amscreen’s Aral network in Germany, which uses more than 1,000 displays, has been switched off. The small (10 displays) Esso network in the Rhine-Main area is also due to be shut down. A small screen size and location that is ‘no longer competitive’ were cited as the reasons for the shut-down, according to Invidis who also said that there are typically four different digital signage networks in an Aral filling station. Daily DOOH says that the entire Aral network is to be moved to Kenya.
