AMD saw its sequential QoQ net loss widen to $197 million, compared to a net profit of $17 million YoY, in spite of a turnover increase of 13% QoQ to $1.06 billion from $942 million, while the YoY turnover declined 16% from $1.43 billion. AMD said a $65 million write-off of older generation APUs was primarily responsible for the decline in net income. Generally lower sales in the Computing and Graphics segment along with lower notebook processor average selling price (ASP) were primarily responsible for the weak financials.
