AMD Result 25/04/2018

AMD reported its financial results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2018 with net revenues of $1.65 billion, an increase of 39.8%, compared to $1.18 billion in Q1 2017. The growth in revenues was primarily driven by higher revenue in the computing and graphics segments. Net income for Q1 2018 was $81.0 million compared to a net loss of $33.0 million in Q1 2017.

AMD made significant growth of 95% in the computing and graphics segments and revenues increased to $1.12 billion year over year mainly due to strong sales of Radeon and Ryzen products. On the other hand, the enterprise, embedded and semi-custom segments saw declines of 12% year over year and revenues decreased from $605 million to $532 million due to lower semi-custom revenue, partially offset by higher server and embedded revenue.

Looking forward to outlook for second quarter of 2018, AMD expects revenue to be approximately $1.725 billion, plus or minus $50 million, an increase of 50% year-over-year.
