AMD Drives Samsung’s Thin Clients

Through a partnership with AMD, Samsung is readying two new thin client displays. Powered by AMD’s Embedded G-Series SoCs, the 21.5″ TC222W and 23.6″ T242W feature fast data transfer and a compact form factor.

Both devices run Windows Embedded 7 (32- or 64-bit) on AMD’s 2.2GHz dual-core GX222 APU. They feature 4GB of RAM and a 32GB SSD. The displays have 1920 x 1080 resolution, with 250 cd/m² (21.5″) or 300 cd/m² (23.6″) of brightness.

DVI-out, VGA-in, USB 3.0 (x2), USB 2.0 (x4) and RJ45 ports are featured. Samsung will release the new thin clients in Q3 – more information will be available closer to the time.
