Amazon used NAB to announce that it will be among the first to offer HDR content through its Amazon Prime Video service. These will arrive sometime in 2015.
Amazon is producing it own original content and is working “Hollywood studios, leading technology innovators and global consumer electronics companies to bring Prime members and customers an unmatched HDR experience in 2015.”
Little additional information was announced including what sort of specification it will use as the format for the content. At CES 2014, Amazon did say it would create content in the Dolby Vision format, but nothing was said about this in the latest news. We will report more as it becomes available.
