Amazon Testing Physical Stores

Amazon is reported to be planning to open its first bricks and mortar store in new York City, in time for the holiday shopping season. According to reports, the store on West 34th St. would operate as a mini-warehouse, holding limited inventory for same-day delivery within New York, product returns and exchanges and the collection of online orders. The move is thought to be an experiment by Amazon to test the concept and if it is successful, the company could open further stores in other cities. Although the reports are unconfirmed, Amazon did announce that it plans to open temporary pop-up kiosks in San Francisco and Sacramento, specifically to show its tablets and other gadgets, The San Francisco kiosk will open on 22nd October, followed by the Sacramento location shortly after.
