Amazon.com Inc. reported a net loss in the third quarter of the year of $437 million, compared with a net loss in Q3 of last year of $41 million. Turnover for the quarter increased 20% year on year to $20.6 billion from $17.1 billion a year earlier. In the first nine months of the year, Amazon recorded a net loss of $55 million on turnover of $59.6 billion, which compares with a net profit for the corresponding period of last year of $34 million on turnover of $48.8 billion.
