LG has announced that its 2018 OLED TVs and Super UHD TVs with AI ThinQ technology are now compatible with Alexa-enabled devices through the LG SmartThinQ Skill for Amazon Alexa.
Consumers can now control their TVs with voice commands via their Alexa-enabled devices — including Amazon Echo and Echo Dot — and access numerous TV functions including volume, play, pause, start, stop, fast forward controls, channel selection and content search.
Support for Alexa adds to LG’s AI ecosystem, which includes a range of Wi-Fi-enabled appliances. By asking Alexa to talk to LG, users can control their TV, air purifier, ice maker, robotic vacuum and more.

I’ve almost got my Echo Dot to control my Logitech universal remote. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. However, I suspect that it will improve over time. The Harmony Elite has a hub device that can control a variety of Wi-fi devices as well as Bluetooth and infrared devices. It can even power up my Playstation, as well as setting the audio and video correctly which is great! (BR)
