Aldi Sud, the German retail chain, has announced plans to modernise its stores with a large DOOH rollout. By 2019, the chain’s 1,860 locations will be digitised with indoor and outdoor signage. Aldi has been testing various signage elements since 2014 and is now ready to begin implementation. As part of the plan, all outdoor display cases will be replaced with digital screens, and indoor screens will be placed behind the cash registers. The company will also adopt LED lighting inside and outside stores, to reduce energy use.
