AirConsole has officially launched its platform on select Volkswagen models, starting with the ID.3, ID.4, ID.5, ID.7, and ID.7 Tourer, equipped with IDS 5.0 and 5.2. Among the new features, AirConsole has introduced the popular trivia game Trivia Crack, adapted specifically for Volkswagen vehicles. The game, originally developed by Etermax is now available for in-car play, courtesy of Play.Works. The partnership has tailored Trivia Crack to fit the dual-screen system offered by AirConsole, allowing passengers to use their smartphones as controllers while the game is displayed on the vehicle’s infotainment system.
Michael Fuller, VP of Games at AirConsole, emphasized the importance of adapting games for in-car use. “We are committed to carefully selecting and adapting games to ensure they fit seamlessly into the automotive environment, providing a high-quality experience for all passengers,” he said.
The service will initially launch in key European markets, including Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, and the UK, with plans to expand further. Volkswagen drivers can look forward to this feature later this year as the service expands to additional models, including the new Golf, Tiguan, Passat, and Golf Estate. AirConsole’s been a big evangelist for gaming in cars as a way of creating a more interactive and entertaining travel experience with an eye on our automated driving futures which leaves us with not a lot to do in a car but kill time.
