Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) recorded a net loss in the fourth quarter of the year of $364 million on turnover of $1.24 billion, which compares with a net profit of $89 million on turnover of $1.6 billion in Q4 of the previous year. The loss was mainly the result of a $362 million one-time write-down in the fourth quarter. AMD’s net loss for the year widened to $403 million from $83 million in 2013, while turnover increased 3.7% to $5.5 billion from $5.3 billion.
