Asahi Glass will build a new furnace for TFT-LCD glass substrates in Guangdong Province, China, the company has announced. With the new agreement, AGC will be able to establish an integrated production system from raw glass to processing in the country. Production facilities will be relocated from Japan, with a ‘significant’ reduction in capital investment. The new subsidiary (AGC Display Glass (Huizhou) Co., Ltd.) will be established in the middle of the year. production is due to begin in late 2016 or early 2017.
