What They Say

Panasonic has refreshed the top of its OLED range with a new LZ2000 UHD OLED which will be available in 55″, 65″ and 77″ (this size for the first time). The ‘Master OLED Pro’ configuration has boosted brightness especially at ‘mid-level brightness’ There are improvements to the HDMI for better game play including lower input latency. There are sensors for ambient room light level and colour and the TV will self adjust to optimise the image and intended to improve the evening viewing when European homes have warm lighting at night and the image can seem ‘too blue’.

HDR is supports in Dolby Vision IQ, Dolby Vision, Filmmaker Mode, HDR10+ Adaptive, and HLG Photo modes. There is a new version of the Smart OS – ‘My Home Screen 7.0’ which includes a ‘myScenery’ function for showing still imagery with ‘relaxing nature sounds’.

Details of lower OLED models will be released later.

Sony also has new OLED sets including 42″ and 48″ A90K models while the A80K will go from 55″ to 77″.

What We Think

As Panasonic had already been a pioneer of heatsinks for OLED, I’m assuming that the boost in brightness is from the latest LG Display Ex technology. (BR)
