LG Display to Boost Vietnam OLED Capacity

What They Say

Reuters reported that the Vietnam government has licensed LG Display to invest $1/4 billion in the city of Hai Phong for OLED module assembly. The report said that 10,000 new jobs would be created with export revenue of $6.5 billion. Capacity is reported to be expanding from 9.6 to 10.1 million units per month to 13 to 14 million. The investment will bring LGD’s total to $4.65 billion.

The Joongang Daily said that the factory would finish panels from smartphones to TV. It quoted Omdia as reporting Q2 TV OLED panel sales by LGD at 945,600 units.
