AU Optronics Corp. reported its financial results for fourth quarter and fiscal year 2017. Consolidated revenue in the quarter were NT$80.66 billion ($2.74 billion), down by 7.7% from previous quarter due to continued panel price declines. Net profit for the quarter was NT$4.20 billion ($142.8 million). For the full year revenue was $341.03 billion($11.6 billion), up 3.6% year-over-year. Net profit for the year was NT$32.36 billion(1.10 billion).
AUO added that “In the fourth quarter of 2017, large-sized panel shipments reached around 28.65 million units, down by 1.5% quarter-over-quarter. Shipments of small-and-medium-sized panels in the same quarter exceeded 46.96 million units, up by 0.3% quarter-over-quarter. For the full year of 2017, large-sized panel shipments exceeded 111.80 million units, an increase of 1.2% from the previous year. Small and medium-sized panel shipments totalled 168.85 million units, up by 9.7% year-over-year”.
