Nintendo reported its financial result for the third quarter and nine months ended December 31, 2017. Net sales for the third quarter were ¥483 billion ($4.32 billion), compared to ¥311 billion in Q3 of 2016. Net income was ¥83.661 billion ($749 million), compared to ¥64.67 billion in Q3 of 2016.
Net sales for the nine months period were ¥857 billion ($7.67 billion), compared to ¥311 billion in the same period last year. Net income was ¥135.17 billion ($1.21 billion), compared to ¥103 billion in 2016. The company said that for the nine months ended December 31, 2017, Nintendo Switch hardware sold well following the launch and sales volumes rose substantially during the holiday season.
