According to unconfirmed reports coming out of Taiwan, Asus and MSI shipped around 2.5 million gaming notebooks in 2017, accounting for approximately half of all worldwide shipments.
Mid and high-range gaming notebooks were among the few market sectors that didn’t decline in 2017. According to these unnamed sources, HP and Dell’s aggressive price-cuts, believed to be an attempt to steal volume from Asus and MSI, actually made more of an impact on mid-range vendors like Lenovo and Gigabyte Technology.
