Large panel shipments for the four main companies we track were 20.312 million in December, falling 2.7% MoM but up just 0.6% YoY.
AU Optronics reported December revenue of NT$25.84 billion ($873.8 million), down 5.6% MoM and 17.1% YoY. This brought sales for the quarter to NT$80.66 billion ($2.7 billion), a fall of 7.7% QoQ and 12.2% YoY. However, turnover for the year was up 3.6% to NT$341.03 billion ($11.5 billion). The company shipped 9.42 million large panels in the month, down 6% MoM and 3.5% YoY, and quarterly shipments fell 1.5% QoQ to 28.65 million, but this was up 1.2% YoY. Annual panel shipments reached 111.8 million, a rise of 1.2%.
Chunghwa Picture Tubes announced monthly revenue of NT$2.72 billion ($91.9 million), down 10.8% MoM and 30% YoY. This brought sales for the year to NT$34.76 billion ($1.2 billion), up 4.9%. CPT shipped 101,000 large panels, an increase of 5.2% MoM but down 17.2% YoY.
Hannstar Display recorded December sales of NT$1.76 billion ($59.4 million), dropping 11.7% MoM and 46.5% YoY. The firm shipped 211,000 large panels, up 34.5% MoM and 83.5% YoY.
Innolux posted December turnover of NT$27 billion ($914.3 million), down 1.1% MoM and 15.9% YoY. This brought Q4 revenue to NT$79.1 billion ($2.7 billion), decreasing 0.5% QoQ and 11.5% YoY. Sales for the year were NT$329.2 billion ($11.1 billion), up 14.7%. Large panel shipments for December were 10.58 million, slipping 0.3% MoM but up 3.7% YoY. This resulted in 30.52 million large panels being shipped in the quarter, up 2.8% QoQ, while shipments for the year were 116.19 million, up 5%.
