Royole Corporation, a leading innovator and manufacturer of next-generation human-machine interface technologies and products such as advanced flexible displays, flexible sensors, and smart devices, has been honored with a Gold Award in the highly respected European Product Design Award competition.
The company won for its innovative Moon 3D Virtual Mobile Theater in the Media and Home Electronics – Consumer Electronics and Cameras category. Earlier this year, Moon was named a CES 2017 Innovation Awards Honoree in both the Wireless Handset Accessory and Gaming categories.
Royole Moon, designed and engineered for movies, gaming, and more, combines two Full HD 1080p AMOLED displays at over 3000 ppi resolution that simulate a giant 800″ curved screen with stereoscopic 3D, and active noise-cancelling headphones. The combination delivers cinematic movie-watching and immersive gaming experiences anywhere the wearer desires.
Moon’s design is truly innovative and unlike any other within its category due to Royole’s patented foldable design (the world’s first in a headset), ultra-soft headphone covers, and a premium breathable eye cover to ensure comfort, even after long periods of continuous use. It’s uniquely designed to be both portable and elegant. Royole has filed for over 100 patents and know-hows in the mechanical design of Moon alone.
“This recognition is very important to us, as it rewards the strategic thinking and imagination that goes into making a great product,” stated Bill Liu, Royole Founder and CEO. “Our goal with Moon was to create a brand new 3D virtual mobile theater from the ground up, featuring ultra-high-resolution displays, top-quality noise-cancelling headphones, a stylish foldable design for portability, and our own operating system to connect wearers to unlimited movies and music. This European Product Design Gold Award validates that we were successful.”
The scalable Moon screen gives the wearer full control over screen size for a personalized viewing experience. It includes 32GB (128GB upgrade available) of internal storage, and a battery life of up to five hours of continuous video playback. Advanced optics allow most eyeglass wearers to enjoy Moon without their corrective lenses.
Its special Moon OS utilizes Royole’s patented flexible electronics technologies, allowing full control from the outer surface of the right headphone, eliminating the need for an external controller. It also supports third-party development, while allowing the device to be easily connected to, and controlled by, a smartphone.
The unit can source movies from smartphones, set-top boxes, gaming consoles, and PCs, as well as accessing content from nearly any Internet-based service, such as Netflix, Amazon Video, Hulu, YouTube, and more. It enhances gaming experiences on popular platforms, including PlayStation, Wii, Xbox, Apple, Google, and others. With 2D/3D format auto-detection, the user experiences content the way it was designed to be enjoyed. Moon was created using the highest-quality materials.
