d3 Technologies helped Virgin Media to develop its special promotion based on Usain Bolt and his world record for the 100 metres before the Olympics. There was a video display but our attention was caught by a custom 100 metre long custom LED display, made by VER and with a surface of 600 m². The display was mounted on 108 pontoons and was floated onto the Thames in London, close to the London Eye. The video was synchronised with lighting and with the display. d3 supplied the processors and the display was addressed as an array of FullHD equivalent surfaces. The display was described as 6K, so over 100m, we believe that the pitch was 16mm.
