At CES, Corsair was showing something intereting even though it may only be for die-hard PC gamers. The Corsair Xeneon Edge is a unique 14.5-inch ultra-wide monitor designed primarily as a system monitoring display for PC users rather than for gaming.
The display has a resolution of 2,560 x 720, supporting up to five simultaneous touch inputs. Designed primarily for system monitoring, it meshes nicely with Corsair’s iCue app, visualizing essential system information such as fan speeds, system temperatures, and resource utilization. It can also display non-system data like weather updates and customizable app shortcuts. Developers can add to its functionality by creating widgets using standard HTML iframes.
The Xeneon Edge comes with multiple mounting options. It can be positioned on a stand designed to fit under a main monitor or, you can use mounting holes compatible with cases designed for 360mm radiators or rows of three 120mm fans. It fits sinto Corsair’s 6500, 7000, 3500, and 5000 series cases, though it may take up space typically reserved for liquid cooling or large GPUs.
Connectivity is simple and efficient, with support for HDMI and USB-C. PCs with USB-C video output can use just one cable for both power and data transfer.
