Omdia says the gaming monitor market was worth $12.8 billion in 2023 and is predicted to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 5.8%, reaching $15.1 billion by 2027. No wonder LG Display was itching to let the world know that its 27-inch 480Hz QHD gaming OLED panel has started mass production.
The cutting-edge panel offers a range of impressive specifications, including the 480Hz and a claimed response time of 0.02ms (GTG), that’s a 0.01ms improvement on the existing 480Hz gaming monitors has out on the market. The panel also features QHD (2560×1440) resolution, WRGB pixel structure optimization for enhanced text readability, and a four-sided borderless design.
The OLED panels incorporate LG’s proprietary META technology with MLA, dynamic frequency and resolution (DFR) for flexible refresh rate and resolution options, and bendable OLED technology that allow customized screen curvatures up to 800R. The first time you will see this panel will be in LG’s own 32GS95UE monitor.

The general consensus is that the monitor performs at the highest level for gaming but most reviewers cannot get over the price hump on this one. If anything, this seems like a testament to the technology and a flagship, but out of reach of any but the most ardent and competitive gamers. In defense of LG, the company has a record-breaking set of specs for this monitor, but most gamers are not going to be able to justify the extra premium, and there seems to be a general gripe about the existing 32GS95UE not having a USB-C connection or any connection for KVM switches.
