Taiwan semiconductor company Solomon Systech Limited took home a major award this week for its advanced display driver technology enabling next-generation MicroLED displays.
The company was honored with the Product Award – Best of the MCU/Driver IC (Asia) of the Year at the EE Awards Asia 2023 ceremony, held December 10, 2023, in Taipei. Their winning product, the SSD2363 PM-MicroLED display driver, took the top prize in its category out of over 380 total nominations. Almost 10,000 online voters participated in selecting it as the year’s best Asian display driver IC.
Solomon Systech’s SSD2363 is claimed to be the world’s first display driver designed specifically for power-efficient MicroLED displays.
“We believe that raising awareness for our winning product in the market could elicit more research in the applications of MicroLEDs, thus helping the development of both AM and PM MicroLEDs for use in both small and large displays.” Said Solomon Systech CEO Ir Wang Wah Chi Raymond while accepting the award, “We believe MicroLEDs will see applications in automotives, AR/VR, and high-end wearables.”
The EE Awards Asia program is organized annually by publisher Aspencore to recognize technical innovations and achievements in Asian electronics. This marks the second straight year Solomon Systech has won a Product Award, cementing its position at the forefront next-generation display drivers.
