Sharp Confirms Robotic Phone – Not a Joke

Sharp’s walking, talking ‘RoBoHoN’ smartphone (Sharp’s Phone Dances, Talks and Sings) will go on sale on the 26th May. Pre-orders are live now: the ‘phone’ costs ¥203,140 ($1,865) ex VAT, although there will also be a monthly charge of ¥980 ($9) to make use of the robot’s full features. Sharp will produce 5,000 units each month and hopes to make a profit within six months.
