Sinclair Uses ATSC in UHD HDR Demo

Sinclair Broadcast Group has demonstrated the first end-to-end transmission of UltraHD HDR Scalable High Efficiency Video (SHVC) encoded content, using ATSC 3.0. The signal came from Sinclair’s facility on Black Mountain, near Las Vegas, using a prototype Teamcast modulator. It was sent 15 miles away, over IP, to a prototype receiver, developed by Technicolor and Sinclair subsidiary ONE Media. The transmission was shown to 11 South Korean broadcast industry experts.
