Samsung Electronics Co saw Q2 net profits of KRW5.75 trillion ($4.9 billion), down from KRW6.25 trillion ($5.3 billion) a year earlier, on revenue of KRW48.54 trillion ($41.5 billion), a decrease from KRW52.35 trillion ($44.7 billion) and the fifth consecutive quarterly drop. For the half year, net profit fell to KRW10.38 trillion ($8.9 billion) from KRW13.82 trillion ($11.8 billion) on turnover which slipped to KRW95.66 trillion ($81.7 billion) from KRW106.01 trillion ($90.5 billion). The company was unable to halt the decline in sales of its Galaxy S6 smartphone and, although demand for the S6 Edge is high, the firm cannot keep up as production is more difficult.
