Apple Inc. has released its third quarter results, posting a net profit for the quarter of $10.7 billion on turnover of $49.6 billion, which compares with a net profit in Q3 of the previous year of $7.7 billion on turnover of $37.4 billion. For the first nine months of the year, Apple achieved a net profit of $42.3 billion on turnover of $182.2 billion, while for the corresponding period of the previous year, the company’s net profit was $31 billion on turnover of $140.7 billion. Apple sold 47.5 million iPhones in Q3, up more than third year on year, with sales of Macs rising 9% to 4.8 million. However, iPad sales declined 18% to 10.9 million units. The company did not break out the sales figures for its Watch.
