AU Optronics (AUO) achieved increases in panel shipments in May, though sales for the month declined. The company shipped 8.67 million large panels last month, up 5.9% from April 2015, while small and medium panel shipments increased 6.9% month on month to 6.1 million units. AUO’s cumulative large panel shipments in 2015 were 43.6 million units, and small and medium panel shipments were 73.8 million units.
Sales in May were up by 2.2% sequentially to NT$31.2 billion ($1 billion), which was 10.8% lower than May 2014. For the year to date, AUO’s sales reached NT$157 billion ($5.1 billion).
