Panasonic is reported to be planning to convert its TV manufacturing plant in Mexico to a production base for ventilation fans. The move is in line with Panasonic’s efforts to restructure its TV operations.
The Mexican plant has been manufacturing TVs since the 1980s and was considered one of the company’s major production sites. However, price competition in Panasonic’s key North American market hit profitability and output has dropped to around 500,000 units a year.
