Asustek’s January Sales Down 17.6%

Asustek Computer saw sales fall 17.6% sequentially to NT$35 billion ($1.1 billion), as shipments to the US and Western Europe declined after the end of year holidays. However, the company said it still achieved double digit percentage year on year sales growth for all of its product lines in the Asia Pacific region. Notebook and tablet shipments are forecast to fall in the first quarter, though shipments of smartphones are expected to achieve slight YoY growth.
