Fashion Entertainments, a Japanese start-up, has extended the use of E Ink on a smartwatch. As well as the display, the strap also uses E Ink technology to show multiple different designs. There is no smart functionality – the FES Watch is a simple wristwatch – but a motion sensor to turn the display on is built in. Battery life is said to be up to two months. The watch is currently being crowd-funded.
