Crambo recently supplied and installed 700m² of Absen X5 LED panels at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya racetrack in Spain. These panels have a pixel size of 5.2 mm and dimensions of 10 × 5.62 metres. The circuit’s interior spaces and press rooms feature a combination of Absen’s A3 and M2.9 LED panels.
Project manager Juan Carlos Acerete said:
“As the sun reflects directly on the screens during the races, LEDs are the only suitable option to broadcast images and videos. With 5.2 mm, the X5 model offers the perfect pixel size for most events and allows us to play with resolutions near Full HD, since most screens in the circuit measure 10 × 5.62 meters.
Absen M2.9 LED screens are located in areas where the public is close to the screen because the resolution of the M2.9 is perfect to see from up close. The result is amazing, with crystal-clear images”.
Prior to this project, a fibre-optic cable system was installed under the surface. This prepared the circuit for transmitting video to more than 20 displays outside, in addition to screens with different formats around the circuit and its covered areas.
