25% of US Homes Are Cable-Free

As many as 25% of US TV households do not own a cable or satellite subscription, according to GfK. Households with a resident between 18 and 34 are most likely to have cut the cord, at 38% of households (22% of these homes are broadcast-only compared to 17% across the US; 13% are IPTV-only, versus 6%). Those households with at least one resident aged 50 or over were more likely to have a pay TV subscription, and pay more for the subscription than other homes.
