The impending release of Microsoft’s Windows 8 operating system on October 26 and the recent CEATEC exhibit (Oct. 2-6, Chiba, Japan) both highlight how user interface considerations influence display applications. Since 2007, touch input has totally revamped users’ notions concerning how they expect to interact with their devices, at least in the mobile phone and tablet PC spaces.
