While 3D has dominated much of the discussion of new TV technology at the recent London Olympics, NHK and their Super Hi-Vision (SHV) capture and display solution was there too. NHK has been developing SHV since 1995 and the Olympic opening ceremony is said to be the first example of non-demo, live SHV content being shown to the public.
