Looking Down the Road at Smartphone Control Trends

The Car Connectivity Consortium (CCC) is driving ahead on their MirrorLink roadmap to improve the user experience of consumers looking to enhance smartphone control of automotive applications. Auto manufacturers and consumer electronics firms like Sony (see photo below) are working with the CCC to provide drivers and passengers with the means to access their smartphone applications from dash-mounted displays. Membership in CCC is extensive and includes a large number of the major auto producers and consumer electronics firms.
